Tim Keefe, Civil Engineering Intern

As part of its internship program, DiPrete Engineering would like to introduce Tim Keefe, Civil Engineering Intern. A student at the University of Rhode Island, Tim has been working with DiPrete since September 2017 and will continue his internship through his senior year. Tim will graduate in May 2019 with a bachelor’s in Civil and Environmental Engineering and then continue on to pursue the University’s accelerated master’s program.

Through his internship with DiPrete, Tim has learned the basic requirements of site design, from septic systems to roadways to the permitting and approval process. He is also learning how to integrate AutoCAD into these design processes and is gaining experience in the field by assisting with wetland flagging and field observation.

Tim, a native of Cumberland, decided to study civil engineering during high school when he realized the majority of the technical classes that he enjoyed lined up well with the engineering field. Tim’s father, who works in the construction industry, also provided him with some background knowledge of civil engineering and the role it plays in society.

“It’s been a privilege to watch Tim evolve as an engineer and expand his skill set,” said Eric Prive, Senior Project Manager. “He’s an essential part of our team and we’re excited to continue to watch him grow.”

Outside of his work with DiPrete, Tim enjoys spending time outdoors including hiking, biking, and sailing.
