DiPrete Engineering led the site/civil project team for the new Citizens Bank Corporate Campus located in Johnston, RI. The team included Pare Corporation (offsite utilities and geotechnical) and Beta Group (traffic and highway) in collaboration with Elkus Manfredi Architects, CRJA-IBI Group, supported by GZA GeoEnvironmental, BR + A, and McNamara Salvia. Cushman and Wakefield represented Citizens as the owner’s project manager, Premier Development was responsible for site work, Dimeo Construction Company completed the building, and DiGregorio Corporation handled the site work. DiPrete obtained permits from RIDEM, RIDOT, and the Town of Johnston.

The pace at which this project was conceived, designed, and permitted was very fast-track involving almost every aspect of engineering and a significant amount of regulatory permits in a short amount of time. The campus is designed to foster collaboration among colleagues, create an excellent experience for their customers, and become a special place for the community. The 123-acre site includes a number of sporting facilities that are open to the public, including a baseball field where local little league teams will play, a soccer field, a beach volleyball court, two basketball courts, a tennis court, and two bocce courts.

The bank’s headquarters remains in downtown Providence. Citizens has about 5,300 total employees in Rhode Island, including workers at branch locations.
