DiPrete Engineering teamed with Donald Powers Architects and Smith Hill Community Development Corporation on this mixed-use development located on Douglas Avenue in Providence, RI.
The project consists of two three-story buildings totaling over 22,000 sf of total floor area. The buildings house 13 residential units above 7,300 sf of retail/commercial space.
The development plan includes buildings placed along the sidewalk and parking behind the building. Underground infiltration was utilized to control stormwater runoff from the buildings and parking area. In addition, a large plaza, terrace and grassed area was created for use by the tenants.
The development was designed to be in harmony with the existing Smith Hill area and a positive example of the community’s revitalization.
