Submarine Learning Center - Groton, CT

DiPrete Engineering teamed with P&S Construction and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) on a new training headquarters for the Submarine Learning Center at the Naval Submarine Base New London.
The site was formerly utilized for military housing. The project consists of a two-story building totaling over 16,000 sf of total floor area. The development plan includes a parking area for 53 vehicles and a sidewalk area designed to integrate with future buildings. A rain garden was designed for the parking area to treat stormwater runoff.

DiPrete Engineering worked with P&S Construction to complete LEED submittals for the stormwater improvements. The drainage design greatly improved the stormwater runoff quality.

The Submarine Learning Center's primary function is to create, coordinate and execute the future training and education vision for the Submarine Force.
The Submarine Learning Center is accountable for all undersea curriculums, training delivery methodologies, and for developing and maintaining professional development continuums for all undersea warfare ratings to include Electronics Technician (SS), Electronics Technician (SW), Fire Control Technician, Machinist's Mate (SS), Missile Technician, and Sonar Technician.
