Located on High Street in the Town of New Shoreham (Block Island), DiPrete Engineering worked with Saccoccio and Associates to provide engineering design services for additions to the Block Island School.

The additions include two building additions to the existing school complex. This included a new 14,060 square foot gym at the northwest corner of the school building and a 4,519 square foot addition at the northeasterly corner of the school that consists of new classrooms. The renovations also include the conversion of the existing gym to new classrooms.

The site improvements include the design of a new gravel parking lot along the south side of the school building for staff parking. A new entrance area off High Street serves as a dedicated school bus entrance/ student drop off.
DiPrete Engineering was also responsible for the design of an underground infiltration system, for mitigating any increases in stormwater run-off from the proposed building and site improvements.
