At DiPrete Engineering, we are proud to celebrate our team’s contributions to the community. Just a few weeks ago, Sheryl Guglielmo, Principal, rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). This event is not only a demanding physical challenge but also a powerful fundraiser for life-saving cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Sheryl’s involvement in this year’s ride was particularly meaningful, as it marked her 40th birthday and was dedicated to supporting a dear friend.

Sheryl’s journey with the PMC began with a special connection. In 2011, she met Rich and Claudia Kerbel during the annual MS 150 ride. What started as a casual acquaintance soon blossomed into a close-knit friendship, with Rich becoming a regular presence in Sheryl’s life, and Claudia cheering them on. Over the years, their friendship deepened, leading to countless shared memories, weekend rides, and gatherings.

In 2022, Claudia was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, a rare condition that has required specialized care from Dr. Eric D. Jacobsen and his team at Dana-Farber. Claudia’s strength and resilience have been a source of inspiration for Sheryl, who decided to channel her own milestone birthday into something truly impactful. To celebrate her 40th birthday, Sheryl chose to ride in the PMC alongside Rich, dedicating her efforts to raising funds for Dr. Jacobsen’s research at Dana-Farber. To date, she has raised over $17,000, while Rich has raised over $18,000, bringing their combined total to well over $35,000. Making the event even more special was reuniting with friend and colleague, Tom Wilder.

We are incredibly proud of Sheryl’s dedication and the significant impact she has made through her participation in the PMC. Her commitment to the cause and her friend has been nothing short of inspiring, embodying the spirit of determination and compassion that defines the Pan-Mass Challenge. Her story is a testament to the power of friendship, community, and the drive to make a difference. Congratulations, Sheryl and Rich, on this remarkable achievement!
