Chris Sutter, Environmental Scientist

DiPrete Engineering would like to congratulate our very own Chris Sutter on receiving his Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification. For Chris, earning the PWS was a natural next step in his career as an Environmental Scientist.

“I have always enjoyed working in wetlands,” said Chris. “They are incredibly diverse ecosystems with many important functions and resources that need to be protected.”

Still, receiving the PWS was no easy feat.

Individuals working towards a PWS certification must have a BA or BS degree plus 15 credits in biological sciences, 15 credits in physical sciences, six credits in math, statistics, and other related courses. They must also earn 15 credits in specialized wetlands course work and have five full years of professional experience in wetland science.

“We are very proud of Chris’ hard work and determination,” said Dennis DiPrete, Principal of DiPrete Engineering. “His expertise and knowledge of wetlands, their value, and how to protect them has always been very beneficial.”

The PWS certification demonstrates a commitment to the stewardship and advancement of the study of wetlands.

“I am looking forward to working on upcoming wetlands projects and sharing my knowledge with others,” said Chris. “Also, the added bonus of being part of nature’s beauty and abundant wildlife while on the job.”
