DiPrete Engineering is proud to support the renewable energy initiatives of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as highlighted in a recent press release. In the coming months, we will showcase our contributions to solar, wind, and battery projects. This month’s Renewable Energy Spotlight focuses on solar canopy projects.
DiPrete Engineering has been at the forefront of advancing solar energy infrastructure through its collaboration with Plankton Energy on several impactful solar canopy projects across Massachusetts. These developments, located in Hopkinton, Framingham, East Longmeadow, and Newton, showcase innovative engineering solutions that integrate clean energy systems into existing properties. By providing services such as regulatory permitting, site planning, drainage design, and more, DiPrete has played a key role in bringing these sustainable energy projects to life while supporting local communities in their transition to renewable energy.
Faith Community Church, Hopkinton, MA
DiPrete Engineering partnered with Plankton Energy on a 713-kW solar canopy project at Faith Community Church in Hopkinton, MA. The development includes six solar canopies covering 160 parking spaces, featuring 1,470 panels in total. The project, which also incorporated building-mounted solar installations, received positive feedback and approvals from the Hopkinton Planning Board and Conservation Commission. DiPrete provided due diligence, regulatory permitting, and site engineering.
St. Andrews Church, Framingham, MA
This project involved the installation of approximately 715 solar panels on a new canopy over an existing parking lot. DiPrete supported the project with land surveying, drainage design, grading, site planning, and regulatory permitting.
New Life Church, East Longmeadow, MA
For this site, DiPrete assisted with the installation of around 702 solar panels on a canopy over the parking lot, handling land surveying, drainage, grading, site planning, and regulatory permitting.
Wells Avenue, Newton, MA
At 57, 85, and 111 Wells Avenue, DiPrete Engineering supported the installation of solar canopies featuring a total of 3,746 panels (755 at 57 Wells, 1,476 at 85 Wells, and 1,515 at 111 Wells). The services included land surveying, wetland delineation, drainage design, grading, site planning, and regulatory permitting for each property.
These projects demonstrate the collaborative efforts between Plankton Energy and DiPrete Engineering to advance clean energy solutions across Massachusetts.
Stay tuned next month for our next Renewable Energy Spotlight!
