DisruptHR Rhode Island: Energizing Human Resources at Warwick Center for the Arts

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the Warwick Center for the Arts came alive with the energy of forward-thinking HR professionals, business owners, and innovators. Spearheaded by Merri Rego, SHRM-CP,vDirector of Human Resources at DiPrete Engineering, DisruptHR Rhode Island made its mark on the local business community.

Described as “the TEDx of the HR world, but with a twist” DisruptHR is a fast-paced, dynamic event designed to shake up traditional thinking in the HR field. The format is simple yet powerful: each speaker gets just five minutes to present their ideas, while 20 slides automatically advance every 15 seconds. The goal is to inspire, inform, and energize HR professionals in a fun and engaging way.

Attendees had the chance to network, exchange ideas, and learn from peers and thought leaders in the field. In addition to the exciting presentations, the evening also included a successful raffle. Thanks to the popularity of the event and the generous contributions of attendees, $500 was raised and donated to The Rhode Island Society of Human Resources Scholarship Fund, supporting the next generation of HR professionals.

With its unique format and high-energy atmosphere, DisruptHR Rhode Island left participants inspired and ready to rethink their approach to HR.
