At DiPrete Engineering, we are constantly focused on building a culture that promotes growth opportunities for our talented and creative mix of surveyors, engineers, and planners. We do this by balancing employee engagement with our commitment to client service.
Sounds like rhetoric? It is easy to say but often more challenging to accomplish. Given this, we take pride in retaining our top talent year-after-year. In 2016, several members of the DiPrete family reached career milestones and we would like to thank them for the dedication and passion they exhibit in their work.
Chris Duhamel has been with DiPrete for 30 years! He has worked with many sophisticated clients to meet their project goals while ensuring conformance to environmental and zoning regulations. His favorite aspect of the job is the firm’s growing staff of young, dedicated engineers who take their positions seriously and work hard to meet goals. “Optimizing site engineering designs are the norm for our team,” said Chris. “Junior engineers often challenge the senior engineers to obtain a collaborative solution for difficult design projects. The motivation to exceed expectations produces a great camaraderie in the office.”
Karen King is celebrating 25 years with DiPrete and has worn “many different hats” during her time with the firm. Her primary role is human resources and office management. Karen is the heart and soul of DiPrete. Aside from healthcare and payroll Karen is the ring leader for keeping company morale at its best. She hosts most of the company events including an annual wine and beer tasting as well as holiday parties, birthday celebrations, and volunteer activities. “The people I work with are phenomenal,” said Karen. “We have such a great team. Waking up and getting to work is easy when you are surrounded by people you enjoy.”
Sheelagh Brady’s 15 years are also much appreciated. Sheelagh deals with dollars and cents on a daily basis. She most enjoys the company’s continuous growth, challenging work and friendly employees. “I feel blessed to have a real sense of family in my professional life,” she said. Sheelagh makes us laugh and keeps us smiling!
Nicole Reilly’s 10 years at DiPrete have come on the heels of working in both the private and public sectors. “I have tackled projects working on offshore renewable energy, new college campuses, mill rehabilitations, medical offices, you name it,” said Nicole. “There is great diversity at DiPrete, both in the people, and their ideas.” Nicole most enjoys DiPrete’s ability to constantly adapt to the local economy’s needs. “Our team is the perfect combination of engineering talent and hard-working people.” Nicole’s name can be found on some of the firm’s most complicated projects! She also is passionate about her volunteer work with Save-A-Lab, an organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of displaced Labrador Retrievers.
Sheryl Guglielmo has now been with DiPrete for a decade, joining the team after graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. During her time at DiPrete, Sheryl’s role has greatly evolved, having had the chance to be involved in land planning, engineering design, project management, marketing, business development, Lean implementation, and strategic planning. She has also been an essential part of the firm’s growth in Massachusetts. Sheryl has a reputation for bringing people together for company networking and charity events most notably the MS 150 mile bike tour to raise money for multiple sclerosis.
Brian Giroux has also worked at DiPrete for 10 years. “I came to DiPrete looking for a fresh start in civil engineering after working in the field and that’s exactly what I found,” said Brian. “This career has grown and changed along with myself and my family over the years and I am so glad to be part of the outstanding DiPrete team. The staff here is more than coworkers to me, they are family.” Brian has become the firm’s go-to-guy for challenging engineering issues and AutoCAD Civil 3d.
Molly Titus has been with DiPrete Engineering for five of her 19-year career. Formerly employed by VHB, Molly joined DiPrete in 2011 and has enjoyed being part of a team with such a diverse portfolio. Molly’s fingerprints can be found on many of the firm’s Newport County commercial and institutional projects, most notably the International Yacht Restoration School on the Newport Waterfront. Her favorite part of the job is working out of the Newport office during the summer months.
Joe Duhamel has been with DiPrete for five years. “Every day I am learning something, every day I am collaborating with my coworkers (friends) to achieve an exceptional product of work.” said Joe. “Looking back at the last five years I can really get a sense of how much I have grown in my day-to-day work. I look forward to everyday at DiPrete and what my future years have to offer.” Joe’s history goes beyond his five years at DiPrete. As the son of Chris Duhamel, much of the DiPrete team has had the privilege of watching him grow into the motivated and talented young man he is today!
Matt Sullivan has also been with DiPrete for five years! Working on proposals and contracts in a fast-paced environment in the private sector has proven to be a great learning experience for him. He particularly enjoys the firm’s Lean culture and the challenge of finding more efficient means of producing quality, accurate work while eliminating waste. “I love being able to tell people I work at a company with such a sterling reputation both inside and outside the industry,” said Matt “It’s reassuring to know that when you work hard, you are recognized and rewarded accordingly. It makes for a great work environment when you know your employers genuinely care for your well-being, professionally and personally.”
Thank you all for your hard work and commitment to the DiPrete team! We are looking forward to celebrating more milestones!
