Save A Lab this Holiday Season!

SnickersIt’s that time of year – the time to give, to be generous, and to help those in need. This year, consider helping out a furry friend in your community! Every day, 14,000 dogs are put down in USA shelters – many of which are beautiful, pure bred dogs. Their lives are lost due to over-population and neglect.

Save A Lab Rescue, an all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of displaced Labrador Retrievers and Labrador Retriever mixes.

Nicole Reilly, Senior Project Manager at DiPrete Engineering, has been involved with the organization since 2012 when she adopted two dogs Snickers, a chocolate lab and Sadie, a black lab.

Sadie“I had volunteered at shelters in high school, but wanted something more time consuming,” said Nicole. “Once I met Snickers and Sadie and thought of what could have been, I knew I needed to help more. Animals have no voice, we are their voice.”

This holiday season, Save A Lab is not only looking for

people to adopt, but is also in need of foster homes.

“We are always in need of fosters and it is seriously one of the most rewarding things you could ever do,” added Nicole.
