Riding for a Reason: DiPrete’s Pan-Mass Journey

Employees of DiPrete Engineering, along with friends of the firm, have devoted countless hours to training and supporting their community. This past year, DiPrete Principals Sheryl Guglielmo and Len Bradley, along with Tom Wilder (The Wilder Companies) and Thom Deller (Town of Johnston), joined the Histiocyclists team, led by Rich Kerbel, in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC).

The team’s efforts helped raise nearly $88,000 in support of Dr. Eric D. Jacobsen’s research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Jacobsen’s work focuses on Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) – a rare disease that Claudia Kerbel, Rich’s wife, has been bravely fighting for four years. Every mile ridden and every dollar raised brings Dr. Jacobsen’s team one step closer to advancing treatment and hope for patients and families impacted by LCH. For 2026, the Histiocyclists hope to raise over $100,000 in fundraising. The collective commitment of the team to training, fundraising, and showing up for those affected by LCH reflects the shared values embraced by the community of colleagues, clients, friends, and supporters.

The Histiocyclists are already registered for the 2026 PMC ride, taking place on August 1-2, and are recruiting more team members! Registration opened on January 15th. If you have any questions or would like to join the Histiocyclists, please contact Rich Kerbel (richkerbel@gmail.com) or Sheryl Guglielmo (sguglielmo@diprete-eng.com). Anyone looking to join the team can register at PMC.org. After completing registration, participants should notify Rich Kerbel, who will add them to the team roster. Participants are also asked to send a brief email to the PMC (panmass@pmc.org) indicating that their fundraising is designated for Dr. Eric Jacobsen’s research into LCH. This ensures that all funds raised are going directly to this cause. To donate to the team, click here: https://profile.pmc.org/pmc/TH0306
