The O’Hare Academic Center at Salve Regina University in Newport has undergone a $26 million addition and renovation of its existing structure, landscape, and hardscape around the building. The two-story addition is located to the southeast of the existing L-shaped O’Hare Center and includes a third wing.

The effort required constant coordination for the detailed walkways, ramps, and landscaping designs. Other designs focused on drainage and stormwater management, a new patio and plaza area, a canopy entrance, and more. Permits such as a City of Newport Zoning Special Use Permit and approval from the Historic District Commission were obtained due to the influence this renovation will have on the surrounding Salve community.

The new and improved O’Hare Academic Building houses classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, faculty offices, the Bazarsky Lecture Hall and Jazzman’s Café.
