Briarcliffe Gardens recently opened its Cottage Residence, a 10,000 square foot Cottage Micro-Community comprised of 20 private suites. The campus, located in Johnston, RI, includes a 43-bed Memory Care Assisted Living Residence as well as the Briarcliffe Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility which includes a 122-bed capacity.
DiPrete Engineering worked with Briarcliffe Gardens and CEO, Akshay Talwar, to obtain all necessary permitting from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM), Narragansett Bay Commission and the Town of Johnston.
DiPrete also replaced the existing wastewater treatment plant with a new sewer pump station and worked on the development site plan. The plan included reconfiguration of the existing parking and loading areas, expansion of the existing drainage basin, ADA accessible grading design and new utility services.
“The new site layout and sewer pump station were created to meet Briarcliffe’s long-term needs,” said David Russo, a Project Manager at DiPrete Engineering. “Briarcliffe Gardens is dedicated to providing a quality life for patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and we’re delighted to play a role in its ever expanding campus.”
