The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Northeast Zone recently announced its newest Vice President, Chris Duhamel. Chris, a Principal at DiPrete Engineering, will serve as NCEE’s regional leader for all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., and West Virginia.
NCEES is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors. NCEES develops, administers, and scores the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure in the United States. It also facilitates professional mobility and promotes uniformity of the U.S. licensure processes through services for its member licensing boards and licensees.
Chris has served on the NCEES’ Committee on Examinations for Professional Engineers, the Committee on Examination Audits, and the Committee on Examination Policy and Procedures. He was also a Professional Engineer Civil Exam volunteer. As Vice President of the NCEES, Chris will encourage member boards to attend meetings and to volunteer for committees to represent the Northeast Zone.
“Serving as a NCEES volunteer with other state board members across the Northeast Zone brings great satisfaction,” said Chris. “Working with young professionals to develop license exams and to establish standards to protect the public helps to give back to our engineering and surveying profession.”
Chris has been a member of the Rhode Island engineering board since 2008 and is a past board president and secretary. He also serves as president of the Westerly Town Council and the Providence Engineering Society.
