Joe brings over 40 years of experience in engineering, land use planning, permitting, and development to the DiPrete Engineering team. He spent 15 years as the Director of Development for Ahold USA, the parent company of Stop & Shop New England. Having literally been in the client’s shoes from the developer’s side, Joe has a unique perspective on how to approach a new project. Before that, he served as the Principal in Charge of Civil, Environmental, and Transportation at Gale Associates, a well-known engineering consulting firm located south of Boston. With decades of development and permitting experience throughout New England, Joe understands projects from both the tenant and landlord perspectives. His geographic reach extends from New York to New Hampshire, including Cape Cod and the islands. Joe has managed numerous high-profile projects, including the development of Massachusetts’ first Topgolf location in Canton, MA. He provides development and permitting strategy services to several of the firm’s developer clients, with a recent focus on residential affordable housing on Cape Cod. Outside of work, Joe enjoys golfing with friends and spending time with his wife, Edna, at their home in Falmouth, MA.
