Nick Hetland of Pawtucket — a Civil Engineering major who just finished his third year of a five-year bachelor’s/master’s program at the University of Rhode Island — is working with Project Manager Eric Prive.
An interest in problem solving drives Nick to engineering. He’s been on site at Village at the Waterfront and is getting a better sense of the general lifespan of a project. He explained that Prive wants him to spend some time with surveyors and learn about drainage systems’ problems as well.
“This internship is helping a lot,” he added. “Eric and the DiPrete team have given me a lot of great exposure in the civil engineering field. I have already witnessed a wide variety of engineering problems as well as the methodology behind solving them. Every day there has been a new challenge and I certainly look forward to the remainder of the summer.”
